 
 
      The top-down map shown below represents the final high-level design. It was developed using research drawn from several games, including Sea of Thieves, 
 Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, and Raft. 
 The map was not a central feature of the game, minimal iteration was required during its development.

These are the initial bubble maps I produced upon learning I would be responsible for designing the game map. Each version uses the same island sizes but explores different island arrangements.
While awaiting a conversation with the other leads, I took the opportunity to experiment with island shape.
